On this podcast, Maanda Tshifularo interviewed Steven Zwane, who is the Founder and Chairperson at the award-winning Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development (YLED), which is an NGO that is aimed at empowering young people. This seasoned strategy and operations professional is currently the Managing Member at PAPO Communications, and has many years of experience in senior management roles. Steven holds an MBA from Durham University. On this interview, he shared his inspirational journey from growing up and not being allowed to go to school because he had to herd kettle, to rising and being the founder of YLED, which has gone on to benefit over 20 000 individuals since being founded in 2004. They spoke about this work and the importance of equipping and inspiring young people and to enable them to see a brighter future. They also spoke about how to think about sustainability challenges in non-profit organisations.
