On this podcast, Maanda Tshifularo interviewed Neo Hutiri. Neo graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSc in Electrical Engineering and went on to join ArcelorMittal SA as an automation engineer. He then took up an operations management role working as a technical assistant to the COO of ArcelorMittal SA while also completing a Masters in Engineering (Industrial Engineering) at the University of Witwatersrand. He later ventured out into the technology startup ecosystem in Johannesburg and is now the founder of Technovera, a technology start-up developing smart solutions. He has a passion for nurturing the entrepreneurial culture, always up for a challenge and heavily invested in the development and adoption of smart technologies in the healthcare space. Over 2.5 million man-hours are lost per month due to patients spending long hours on queues at primary healthcare facilities. Technovera has developed pelebox, a technology platform that allows patients to collect repeat medication in under 2 minutes instead of waiting hours and is now working with The City of Johannesburg and The City of Tshwane to enable patient to collect medication faster.
